Search Results List: Your search results are displayed here. The information that is output to the Results list is configurable in Options-Output, e.g., filenames, number of hits, hit lines, etc. The sort order of the files can be adjusted in Options-Search. The display colors are configurable in Options-General. If you are having trouble seeing the results, try changing the colors. You can also enable/disable the tree-style list in Options-General.

In the model screen here, the right click menu available in the results list was captured for purposes of an example (lower right corner). Normally, this is not displayed until you right click on a file or search results line.

See Binary Search Results for a sample dialog if your files are binary.

The search hit tree can be expanded/collapsed by clicking on the image\plus.gif / image\minus.gif icons or Keyboard Shortcuts.F4/F5 move between files.

To activate the View Context dialog, select either View Context from the right click menu or double click on a line where the search string is displayed. The Enter key also activates the context viewer (Win95/NT version only). If you double click (or press Enter) on the highlighted line in the current example (Line 22 - à), the view context dialog would be displayed with the search string highlighted.

To "Shell to" (launch) the executable associated with a file (in File Manager), double click on a filename line. In the example screen, to activate the web browser associated with .htm files, double click on the line immediately above the highlighted line, e.g., the line that says, "Processing file: D:\EXAMPLE\Search(grep) and Replace for.htm".

The Ctrl+C key will copy the entire contents of Search Results list box to the Windows Clipboard.
